The Robertson Small Hotel’s family of three encapsulates the royal Victorian Manor House, a national monument built in 1909; suave yet relaxed Stable Suites and the serene Poolside Suites, flaunting a crisp cool sense of calm at the water’s edge. The same contrast of clean, natural hues and rich organic textures, silhouetted against a monochrome palette of French white, is integrated in ten luxury suites. Each of the air-conditioned rooms is cocooned with its own unique celebration of modern design and fusion of eclectic yet comfortable furnishings whilst reflecting an appreciation for space. These deluxe suites not only provide solace for the soul, but are also fitted with the latest technology to cater for the needs of the trendy traveller and businessman. Enhancing The Robertson Small Hotel experience, the Manor House is home to a cosy bar lounge, flaunting slick mirror, lead and pewter detail and a state-of-the-art wine cellar which lends a backdrop to the hotel’s signature restaurant, Reuben’s at the Robertson. Serving up culinary brilliance under the guidance of chef extraordinaire Reuben Riffel – famed for his world- acclaimed restaurant in Franschhoek – this gorgeously appointed gastronomic sphere spills out onto a tranquil courtyard, the heart of the hotel, where the family trio converge. We are excited to share with you that The Robertson Small Hotel has recently undergone a complete redesign. The hotel’s relationship with their collaborators and contributors has been a unique feature of the renovation. Curated by Studio Ashby of London, the redesign saw local designers and collaborators tasked with creating bespoke items to form part of a brand new look while enhancing the award-winning facilities. The Victorian Manor Houses Rooms as well as the Stables and Poolside Suites , the ample gardens and Wellness room were all set upon by designers and artists including Alexis Barrel, Michael Chandler, Renee Rossouw, House of Gozdawa, Lisa Firer, Rene Botes, Bonfred Furniture among others. Fashion designer and textile artist Alexis Barrell drew inspiration from local flora and fauna to design a range of textile works using techniques such as hand block printing and intricate and laborious process of carving sketches into wood and printing on cotton with natural dyes by hand. The small Restaurant received a new menu courtesy of Rose Ashby of Spring Restaurant at Somerset House in London, with the focus on seasonal produce sourced in the Robertson area Ashby worked alongside head chef Tiaan van Greunen. The EM BAR, a custom designed bar in blue and  white porcelain by artist  Michael Chandler, offers a selection of the area’s finest wines and a small range of cocktails.
