We bieden u een werkelijk unieke belevenis aan met dit 4 daagse pakket!
U verblijft in Quartermains safari camp. Dit is een klassiek expeditie kamp in 1920 stijl!  Het biedt 6 bedden in 3 safaritenten die uitgerust zijn met militair camping meubilair.  De gasten in het expeditie camp zullen genieten van de Big Five safaris in 2 van de Oost Kaaps eerste game reserves in een malaria vrij gebied.

2 x per dag worden game drives in open 4 x 4 gemaakt. Alle maaltijden zijn inbegrepen. Uw hosts zijn Riaan en Julie Brand zijn beiden zeer ervaren rangers en zullen er alles aan doen om u een onvergetelijke tijd te bezorgen. U heeft de kans om o.a. olifanten, white and black rhino’s, luipaarden, buffels en leeuwen te spotten.  De rangers zullen u uitgebreid vertellen over alle wetenswaardigheden van zowel de dieren als de natuur.

Optioneel maar zonder extra kosten bestaat de mogelijkheid een wilderness hiking tocht te maken met een van de gekwalificeerde gidsen.  U verblijft hierbij een nacht in een volledig uitgeruste grot die uitkijkt over de Bushman’s river valley.  Een heerlijke bushmaaltijd wordt ter plaatse voor u klaargemaakt terwijl u geniet van de fantastische uitzichten.  U wandelt met uw ranger door 5 verschillende biomen van de ongerepte Oost Kaap Big 5  wildernis. Een unieke ervaring!

Er geldt een minimum van 2 personen en maximum van 4 personen. Een goede conditie is van belang.

Aanvullende informatie 

• Guests will head out with the afternoon game drive (2.30 – 3pm) and are dropped off to meet up with their trails guides on the reserve, then walking for approximately 3 hours to the overnight accommodation.
• The walking distance each day will be approximately 3 – 5 km and usually the terrain isn’t too challenging. The distance covered can very much be tailored to suit the guests needs. The overnight accommodation is accessed via a series of ladders, so some moderate climbing will be necessary.
• Unfortunately no children under the age of 16 are permitted.
• We reserve the right to cancel the trail at short notice if severe weather (for example heavy rain or severe heat) is expected.
• The focus of the trail is not specifically to see the large game species, we tend to focus more on the lesser seen treasures like tracks, insects, birds and plants.
• If we do come across any larger game species during the course of the walk, the Trails Guide will assess the safety of an approach, and only if he is comfortable with it, will he put the question to the guests. If all the guests are comfortable, he will make an approach.
• We ask guests to please try to wear neutral coloured clothing ie. not strongly contrasting eg, white and black.
• Although not currently much of a problem due to the ongoing drought, mosquitos and ticks can be a bother and so long pants and sleeves are often a good idea.
• A hat is essential.
• Guests need to wear sturdy shoes, trainers are ok /NO flip flops/thongs/sandals.
• Sunblock/sunscreen is essential.
• What guests need to bring: Sleeping bag and pillow (a sleeping bag and pillow can be provided with prior notice for a rental fee of R250 per person. This bedding will then be waiting at the cave for you and so won’t have to be carried), a head torch, 3 litres of drinking water, snacks, wet wipes and personal toiletries, all in a strong backpack.
• Overnight accommodation is located in a cave, with stretcher beds, chairs, a water refill point, and a porta-loo facility provided.
• A dinner of venison steak, a jacket potato, butternut, and a mushroom sauce will be prepared for dinner. Drinks are included and a small selection of alcoholic beverages are available. Tea and coffee is also included.
• Sundowners will be offered at the cave, after the day’s trail, whilst dinner is being prepared, so that the guests can relax and enjoy the beautiful view from the cave.
• Trailists will awake with the sunrise, and coffee/tea and rusks and fruit will be served in the cave.
• Guests will walk across the reserve until approximately 10am when they will be collected and transferred to camp for a full/continental breakfast.
